  8. ALL CURRENTLY REGISTERED USERS OF INTELEC SOFTWARE: READ BEFORE UPGRADING!!!!

  10. Intelec Software has gone to a new "KEY" file based system of registration.
  11. The old system of registration & Validation Codes will no longer work, but
  12. don't lose your Validation Codes! With them, you will be able to retrieve
  13. the KEY Files for the products you have registered. It is *Important* that 
  14. you have the Validation code. (Usually a 4-8 digit number, and the second
  15. number you placed in your Config Files on Line 3)

  17. There are 2 methods with which you can retrieve your Key file (powerpak owners
  18. see special notice at the end):

  22.     If you send the Sysop and BBS name, and Validation code for each 
  23.     PPE you are registered for in an e-mail message to:
  24.  
  25.         harchon@centuryinter.net  
  26.  
  27.     Your Key(s) will be generated and returned via e-mail. Please note that
  28.     the name@address will be recorded, and any subsequent requests will
  29.     have to come from the same address.

  36.     If you would rather call one of the Pick-up Sites, follow this procedure-
  37.         1. Call either BBS. 
  38.         2. Log on USING THE REGISTERED SYSOP NAME (not BBS name)!
  39.         3. Enter the Key Retrieval Utility (Enter KEYS from the main board)
  40.         4. If your Login ID matches the name we have recorded, you will
  41.            be displayed the PPE's you are registered for. Enter the
  42.            number of the Key you wish to retrieve.
  43.         5. You will then be prompted for your Validation Code. Enter it 
  44.             EXACTLY. (Three mistakes and you'll be TCAN'd from the utility
  45.             until the sysop manually removes it!)
  46.             If the Validation code matches, the KEY will be generated and
  47.             the download started. 
  48.         6. Repeat 4 and 5 for each key you're registered for.

  50.     Note: if two people have the same name, this may cause problems with the
  51.     second name. Leave a comment and the correct information will be 
  52.     made available...

  56.     If you have a PowerPak registration, your will only receive 1 Key file,
  57.     named POWERPAK.KEY, which you will copy to each PPE directory. Do NOT
  58.     rename the file!

  62.     That's it. Read the instructions for installing each PPE. While I've
  63.     attempted to keep the upgrades as "copy over" as possible, there have been
  64.     quite a few changes in several. Some have new lines in the ConfigFiles,
  65.     (or don't use the Configfile any more), new or changed lines in Prompt 
  66.     Files, and several other changes.

  68.     Unless you are using a powerpak Key, your Key file will be named the 
  69.     same as the PPE it's for. Do not attempt to rename them for use with other
  70.     PPE's. Each Key file is "self-contained" and will not work with other
  71.     PPE's, even if renamed...

  81.     I hope you find the new versions an improvement. I've spent a lot of
  82.     time overhauling them and have tested them as much as possible. Several
  83.     have also been tested on another system for thoroughness and they 
  84.     appear to work as good, if not better, than their predecessors! Your
  85.     feedback will be most welcome!
